My personal tips for the Bride:

This day includes all of the above but it ultimately is all about you and your new husband so just enjoy eachother.

Make sure you have your reception time line established so that your party can just flow flawlessly and no one will have to keep coming up to you asking questions ( that is so annoying and unecessary)

    Breathe.......Breathe ............Breathe

Don't allow last minute glitches such as cancellations, people wanting their seats changed, not hearing a song you expected to cause you any stress. This is the first day of the rest of your married life so don't let anything interfere with your joy and happiness!
  • What could possibly go wrong at my wedding?

It's your big day, Champagne, cake, kissing, family in from out of town..what could go wrong?

Hopefully nothing but sometimes..everything. During my latest wedding we hired as always a fabulous band. We gave the event our power requirements. This is one of those details that you the bride will never know about because your planner should never concern you with this but this is all happening while you are smiling and eating your cake.

So the band is playing on stage and there is a major power issue and suddenly speakers are cracking....I ran over to the DJ and said start the minute the band stops, then told the band stop after this song..which they did. The transition went flawlessly none of my bride's guests knew there was a problem nor did my bride know there was an issue.
So what was the issue? Some extra lights from the venue were pulling from the power source.

How could this have effected you the bride?

Well for one if you have a planner that panics...speakers would have cracked music would have stopped and she / he wouldn't have known to have the DJ ready to start thus everyone would have known.

Those are just one of the many little details that you the bride should never have to deal with on your big day.

Another tip I always give my brides is pick a time line....then stick to it. "Well I just want to be able to change things and pick ...now we have this dance, now I'll throw the bouquet..."

This sounds good in theory but this is what can happen, every 20 minutes I have to come to you and say " do you want to dance now?, would you like to do the bouquet now?

You shouldn't have to have your planner come to you every 20 minutes. You should just be relaxing, dancing, smiling and having fun. That can be accomplished if we establish before the reception the flow of the evening.

Just some quick tips to make your day smoother

Wedding Cakes Trends Styles Do's And Dont's

As you can see from these different wedding cake designs anything is possible. Do you want simple and chic, fun and flirty, formal? It's up to you.

I know that bridal magazines are filled with trends and styles what is hot and what is not. Here is my philosophy on all of that. When the wedding is over two years down the road are you going to care about trends? NO. I don't believe in being a follower I believe in being a trail blazer.

Don't follow the path well worn choose your own. Here is what I mean by that. This is your day...and ONLY your day. Not the florist, wedding planners, cake designer or anyone else. It is your wedding. So pick a wedding cake that you and your groom love , that reflects your personality, your colors. The wedding cake should not be the focal point. WHAT!!! I know you've heard that forever but YOU are the focal point. The cake should follow you. So pick what you want and enjoy as you have many choices!

Your wedding should be the day you have always dreamed. I have been behind the scenes for many events. One thing is certain, a do it yourself bride will be a stressed and worn out bride. Every wedding planner is different and their methods of planning and design are unique as well.

If you want to have a magical day than hire a planner.
This is what a great planner can do for you:

She will know what DJ's are excellent and which ones will ruin your party...yes some can do that.

She will know the top wedding bands in her area depending on the type of atmosphere you'd like set.

She can negotiate prices that you will never be able to because they know she'll be coming to them again where you only represent one event thus no incentive to give you a deal.

She will know which wedding venues will be the best for the type of wedding and style of wedding you will like.

And she will answer all the questions regarding wedding flowers, wedding linens, time lines and everything else that you shouldn't have to worry about.

One of the greatest gifts your wedding planner will have is a style and design to make your day look spectacular. So Good luck you've decided to take the plunge your day can be as magnificent as you've dreamed with the right team in place!
